We always hear "do the right thing" but this is within the context of what is ethical. The term "right" really should be "wise". Sometimes what might be "right" for one person might not be right for you. So really, what you should be asking with every decision is, "is this the wise thing to do?" Every decision we make impacts the story we will tell and the legacy we will leave, and today's modern culture will bait us right to the edge and then mock us when we step over. So we have to constantly ask ourselves "what is the wise thing to do?" Because a wise decision is the right decision. And if you allow the culture around you to define what is "right" you will indeed begin to compromise your own ethical standards. God gave us a conscience for a reason, we just have to trust it, and be honest with ourselves.
